Richard J. Himelfarb, senior executive vice president at Legg Mason, Inc., is chairman of the University of Maryland Baltimore Foundation, Inc. board of trustees. He earned a bachelor's degree from Johns Hopkins University and a JD from Yale University Law School. He also serves as director of UMB Health Sciences Research Park Corporation board, which oversees the development of the UMB PioPark. A director of Legg Mason since November 1983, Himelfarb was elected executive vice president of Legg Mason and Legg Mason Wood Walker in July 1995. He is responsible for supervising Legg Mason’s corporate and real estate finance activities. He serves as a member of the boards of the Kennedy Krieger Institute, CenterStage, and the Baltimore Development Corporation.
