Each year the University of Maryland, Baltimore celebrates the achievements and successes of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and philanthropic supporters and pays tribute to UMB's 200-plus-year history with a series of Founders Week events.

Student Cookout

Student Cookout Invitations for this popular event are extended to more than 6,400 students representing future dentists, lawyers, nurses, pharmacists, physicians, and social workers. Students are served by the president, deans, and vice presidents. The Student Cookout is hosted by President Perman and will take place on Monday, Oct. 13, in the School of Nursing Courtyard outside the Southern Management Corporation Campus Center.

Founders Week Food Truck Rally The Food Truck Rally has been rescheduled for Friday, Nov. 7 from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Public Servant of the Year

Karen Kauffman, PhD, CRNP, RN, FAAN Dr. Kauffman has participated in work leading to passage of the National Alzheimer’s Project Act and helped revise the Alzheimer’s Association’s Statement of Ethics.
