Each year the University of Maryland, Baltimore celebrates the achievements and successes of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and philanthropic supporters and pays tribute to UMB's 200-plus-year history with a series of Founders Week events.

Featured Founders Week Events

Student Cookout

Student Cookout Invitations for this popular event are extended to more than 6,400 students representing future dentists, lawyers, nurses, pharmacists, physicians, and social workers. Students are served by the president, deans, and vice presidents. The Student Cookout is hosted by President Perman and will take place on Monday, Oct. 13, in the School of Nursing Courtyard outside the Southern Management Corporation Campus Center.

Staff Luncheon

Staff Luncheon The annual Staff Luncheon is a Founders Week highlight. While waiting in line for the buffet, guests are served hors d'oeuvres by President Perman and the vice presidents. The Staff Luncheon will be held at Westminster Hall on Tuesday, Oct. 14 during two shifts: 11:30 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. and 12:20 to 1 p.m. Tickets are required and will be available starting Sept. 22.
